About the Estate
Where Land, Light, and Legacy Converge.
Tucked along the glistening shoreline of Moses Lake, on the elevated crest of Diamond Point, lies Las Piedras de Valle, a vineyard born of vision and nurtured by nature. From its perch above the Columbia Basin, the estate offers sweeping vistas of water and sky, a landscape that feels both timeless and full of promise.
This land tells a geological story written in basalt and glacial floods. The soil—sandy loam rich in minerals and perfectly drained—offers more than fertility; it offers character. Here, vines sink deep into the earth, drawing strength and subtlety from ancient layers. With precise irrigation and generous sunlight, each grape ripens into a reflection of its complex, balanced, and expressive environment.
The journey began in 2016, when the first vines took root. Eight varietals were chosen with care, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, and Chardonnay, each selected for its ability to thrive in the estate’s unique microclimate. Year by year, the vineyard matures, its rows growing fuller, its flavors more refined. The land evolves, too: pathways are carved, gardens bloom, and the winery itself begins to take shape as a place of gathering, celebration, and craft.
Las Piedras de Valle is more than a vineyard. It’s a living estate where terroir meets artistry, and where every bottle tells a story of sun, soil, and soul.

About the Owners
Rooted in Community. Inspired by Curiosity. Grown with Love.
For nearly forty years, Jack and Nelly McLauchlan have called Moses Lake home—not just in residence, but in spirit. As lifelong educators, they poured their hearts into classrooms across K–12 and college campuses, shaping minds and building bridges in a community they’ve come to cherish deeply.
Jack hails from the misty forests of western Washington, while Nelly brings the warmth and vibrancy of Paraguay. Their paths crossed in a way that feels almost cinematic—an origin story full of serendipity and soul, best shared over a glass of wine and good conversation.
After decades of teaching, they turned the page to a new chapter: one rooted in the soil, steeped in tradition, and bursting with possibility. Winemaking became their canvas—a way to blend science and art, patience and passion, hospitality and heritage. What began as a curiosity quickly blossomed into a calling.
Today, Jack and Nelly are not just vintners—they’re storytellers, hosts, and stewards of a life well-lived. Their vineyard is an invitation: to slow down, to savor, and to connect. Whether you're here for the wine, the view, or the people, you’ll leave with something more.
